This weekend was the annual Houston Art Crawl. Apparently this has been going on since 1993, every Saturday before Thanksgiving. A slew of studios throughout downtown Houston open their doors to the public in hopes of high priced sales and we the public wander through endless amounts of “art” in hopes of free-priced cheese and wine (maybe even some Ritz) (more…)

This past week I happened to be in Tucson, AZ for a work conference. If you’ve never been to Arizona, you should go. It’s a gorgeous place, and as many times as you may have seen the desert in movies or on TV, you are never quite prepared for what it actually looks like.
Upon, landing I hailed a cab to take me to my hotel and I happened upon a a gentleman in his mid-fifties, driving a handicap van. For some reason, he seemed to be more honest than the rest of them so I hopped in for a $55 ride to the Hilton, El Conquistador. What I actually “hopped” into may have been a forever changing event in the history of my life. I repeat, “may have been”. (more…)

For lack of any real excitement and/or break of co-dependency in our lives, Rob and I have once again nerded out and turned to our old reliable friend(s) television. Our newest passion: The Office.
For some unknown reason we continue to “get into” shows way after everyone else and by the time we’ve become completely obsessed with them – no one else cares – like YOU, right now.
Besides The Office being incredibly well written, smart, and obviously very funny; it has the exact amount of girly-love drama that sucks you in completely. (more…)

As this was the first year that I have lived in a house in God knows how long, the possibility of getting actual trick-or-treaters seemed quite plausible. Since I am such a sucker for both kids and torture by means of foisting uncomfortable and ridiculous outfits on them via blackmail of mini-Mounds bars; I was very excited for this year’s Halloween!
