Have you been watching Lost this season? I can’t tell if it’s good at all. I’m just so confused by the whole thing what with the dual plot/time lines and sick/bad people and Jack’s grey hair. My husband, however, said the most brilliant thing about Lost this week.
“The most unbelievable thing about Lost is that Drive Shaft is a popular band.”
I agree, sir.

As driving around Texas from a conference this past week I came across a country music station that had obviously the most amazing slogan writers ever… of all time..

“Country by choice, Texan by the good grace of God.”

Awesome.

Everyone at my job has been talking about fall. The amazing seasonal change where the leaves turn colors and then drop; that wonderful crispness that makes you want to grab a light sweater, when the air smells like apple pies and candy corn.

In Houston, people have been talking recently about Autumn because they actually don’t understand what the word really means. It does not mean, now it’s a crisp 90 degrees, wow let’s break out the parkas, but for some reason people here seem to think that. Someone I work with actually said to me today, I had to turn on my heat last night!

Your heat? Really Houston!?

(I will say however, that I did just order a tweed suit. Yay fall!)

Analog is over.

Now, let the panicked “what the ‘eff happened to my television” phone calls begin!

Wow. I’ve never wanted a full length leather coat more in my life.

Would you come to my wedding if the theme from Family Ties was our wedding song?

I thought so, but wait, would you come to the wedding if the theme song to Webster was our wedding song?

I figured as much. But now hold on – which of those two beautiful pieces of music, would better a wedding song make? (I encourage you to really listen to the lyrics carefully, both songs are actually appropriate for a first post-marital dance… or if you need an adoption song in a pinch)

See… it’s difficult. Let’s take it to the streets.

Which Would Make A Better Wedding Song?

Theme song from Webster

Due to recent events – I got a car! It’s a sweet 1995 Toyota Corolla, black with slight dinks all over it. The inside lights don’t light up too brightly on the gear changer, so it’s difficult to see if I’m in DRIVE or in REVERSE. The radio knob is broken off and there is only an old tape deck. It’s loud as hell and you can really “feel” the road as you drive – although I don’t think this is a selling point. There’s a permanent scuff mark from what must have been a broken windshield wiper on the driver’s side, which is slightly distracting as you drive.

It’s freaking awesome! (more…)
